Fidelity Bank Ghana has shown its commitment to education. They commissioned a fully equipped E-Library for the Tesano Cluster of Schools. This initiative is part of their Orange Impact program, which aims to improve educational access in marginalized public schools.
The new E-Library includes internet-enabled computers and digital learning tools. It also features interactive software and high-speed internet access. Over 1,000 pupils and teachers will benefit from this facility. It aims to enhance digital literacy and promote research and reading culture.
The commissioning ceremony took place at the school. Attendees included school leaders, students, community members, and Fidelity Bank officials. Carl Nii Ayikwei Tetteh delivered a speech on behalf of Managing Director Julian Opuni.
Mr. Tetteh emphasized the importance of this initiative. He stated that they are not just providing equipment but closing an educational gap. Many bright students lack access to basic learning tools in today's digital age.
The E-Library adds to nine other schools benefiting from the Orange Impact Initiative. Launched in 2022, this initiative marks Fidelity Bank’s 15th anniversary. It supports schools through infrastructure upgrades and provides teaching resources.
Fidelity Bank funds the project with contributions from its staff. The Uniwiz Foundation led the construction of the E-Library as a key partner. Whizdom Larry, Group CEO of Uniwiz Foundation, praised Fidelity Bank's commitment to education.
He noted that they created a section for traditional reading as well. This space contains physical books for students to read and reflect on their own.
Cynthia Aboni, Okaikwei North Municipal Educational Director, praised Fidelity Bank’s investment in education. She called it a meaningful intervention addressing real challenges in schools.
Aboni believes the E-Library will help bridge the digital divide for pupils. She hopes other institutions will follow this example.
Coleman Precious Agyeiwaa, Assistant Girls’ Prefect at Tesano 2 Basic School, expressed gratitude on behalf of students. She said they are excited about the new E-Library for learning and research.
Agyeiwaa thanked Fidelity Bank for supporting their dreams and helping them learn more about computers.
The commissioning reflects Fidelity Bank’s commitment to social responsibility in education. The bank believes education drives national development and empowers Ghanaian youth for a better future.
