Finance Minister tables bills to repeal E-Levy, Emissions Levy, and Betting Tax

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has submitted three financial bills to Parliament to repeal the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy), Emissions Levy, and the 10% withholding tax on bet winnings.

The bills Electronic Transfer Levy (Repeal) Bill 2025, Emissions Levy (Repeal) Bill 2025, and Income Tax Amendment Bill 2025 align with the government’s 2025 Budget commitment to reducing financial burdens on citizens and businesses.

First Deputy Speaker Bernard Ahiafor referred the bills to the Finance Committee for further review. If approved, the repeals could impact government revenue and influence economic activities in digital finance and gaming.
