Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson has urged the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to exceed its 2025 revenue targets.
During a visit to the GRA headquarters, he praised the authority for surpassing its 2024 target with a 5.3% increase, totaling GH¢ 153.5 billion, driven by growth in domestic and customs revenue.
However, Dr. Forson stressed the need for further revenue growth, highlighting the government's limited borrowing options. He emphasized the importance of domestic resource mobilization, as the country is obligated to raise additional tax revenue under the IMF program.
Acting Commissioner-General Anthony Kwasi Sarpong committed to exceeding expectations, prioritizing teamwork, and strategic leadership to meet the 2025 targets. Both leaders expressed a shared goal of national development through fiscal discipline.
