First National Bank has appointed Adwoa Boateng-Addo as Chief People Officer.
Before this role, Adwoa was the Senior Human Resource Business Partner at the bank. She led several important human resource initiatives during her time there.
Adwoa succeeds Ernestina Danquah, who retired on April 30, 2025. Ernestina served as Head of Human Resources for nearly ten years.
Warren Adams, the CEO of First National Bank, commented on Adwoa’s appointment. He said it reflects the bank's philosophy of "growing its own timber."
He expressed confidence that Adwoa will enhance their people strategy.
In her previous role, Adwoa built strong relationships and influenced executives. She successfully led projects like performance enablement and employee value proposition development.
Warren added that they believe she will excel in her new position.
As Chief People Officer, Adwoa will oversee strategic people initiatives. These include talent development, performance enablement, and organizational design.
Adwoa is a results-driven HR executive with over fifteen years of experience. She has worked in banking, media, and public service sectors in Ghana and the UK.
She shared her excitement about working with First National Bank's talented team.
Adwoa believes they can align human resources with the bank’s goals effectively.
She holds a Master’s degree in International Human Resource Management from London South Bank University. Additionally, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Ghana.
Adwoa is also an alumnus of Achimota School. She is a certified member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP). Her expertise includes talent management, employee relations, learning & development, reward systems, and HR analytics.
