First Sky Limited, in partnership with the Bui Power Authority, is advancing Ghana’s renewable energy goals through a 50-megawatt solar power plant in Yendi, which is 65% complete and expected to be operational by mid-2025.

Additionally, plans are underway for 200 megawatts of renewable energy projects in Yapei and Salaga, set to be integrated into the national grid within two years.

Speaking at the company’s 22nd Annual Thanksgiving Ceremony, Mr. Eric Seddy Kutortse, Executive Chairman of First Sky Group, emphasized the solar project’s importance in reducing reliance on fossil fuels and enhancing Ghana’s energy security.

Beyond energy, First Sky Group is deeply involved in humanitarian efforts. The company sponsored 16 kidney transplant surgeries in 2024 and plans four more by January 2025, all performed locally.

Mr. Kutortse highlighted the need for a legal framework to support organ donation and harvesting programs and disclosed ongoing collaborations with Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to finalize proposed legislation.

Representing the President, Mr. Julius Debrah pledged the government’s support in enacting organ harvesting laws and assured the business community of collaborative efforts to create jobs and drive youth employment.
