The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has detailed the over $3.9 million debt owed by McDan Aviation, leading to the closure of its private jet terminal at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on December 30, 2024.

The debt includes charges for land leases, terminal fees, and rental costs, with significant amounts owed for various properties, including $640,232.48 for Terminal 1 rent, $1.16 million for a block factory site, and $2.17 million for an airport logistics building.

Additionally, McDan has not paid a 15% share of gross revenue from September 2022 to November 2024.

McDan Aviation disputes $2 million of the debt, citing a land acquisition under litigation. However, GACL maintains that McDan has developed the land and profited from rental income without settling ground rent. GACL continues to demand full payment of the outstanding debt.
