GCB Bank Board Chair pledges to strengthen Bank’s leadership

Professor Joshua Alabi has been appointed as the Board Chairman of GCB Bank, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. His appointment follows the resignation of Mr. Daniel Kwaku Tweneboah Asirifi.

A distinguished academic and seasoned administrator, Professor Alabi has over 30 years of leadership experience across academia, public service, and corporate sectors.

His notable roles include Chairmanship of HFC Bank, where he oversaw its transformation into Republic Bank, and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), where he spearheaded significant institutional reforms.

Professor Alabi’s extensive expertise spans governance, education, sports administration, and public service.

As Board Chairman, he aims to strengthen GCB’s leadership in Ghana’s financial sector, drive innovation, and enhance shareholder value, ensuring the Bank remains a key player in Ghana’s economic development.
