The recently concluded National Economic Dialogue (NED), themed "Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together," reignited discussions on Ghana’s economic trajectory.
Dr. Peter Otokunor, Director of Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness, emphasized the need for inclusive, job-driven growth beyond the extractive sector.
He criticized the previous administration for not engaging in the dialogue, stating that a stronger focus on agriculture, industry, and manufacturing would generate sustainable jobs.
Economist Prof. Stephen Adei also lamented successive governments' neglect of expert economic advice, urging the restructuring of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC).
The discussions are expected to shape President Mahama’s economic policies, aiming for people-centered, sustainable growth through strategic interventions.
