Several resource persons attended a recent retreat.
They included former Finance Minister Seth Emmanuel Terkper. He is now the Presidential Adviser on the Economy.
Also present was Steve William, a Treasury Management Expert. He chairs the Presidential Task Force that established GEXIM.
Other participants were Kola Ibrahim, an expert in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, and Dr. Abena Asomaning Antwi, a team-building coach.
These experts presented on the bank’s role in supporting economic development.
Sylvester Mensah is the Acting Chief Executive of GEXIM. He emphasized the bank's commitment to support agribusiness and garment sectors. This aligns with Ghana's export development and import substitution goals.
Mr. Mensah outlined immediate priorities for GEXIM. These include boosting export trade and increasing food production. The bank also aims to support agribusiness and create job opportunities.
Moses Klu Mensah is the Deputy CEO for Business and Banking. Victor Easmon serves as Deputy CEO for Finance and Administration. They encouraged staff to embrace the bank's new direction.
Sylvester Mensah announced plans for a Guarantee Fund at GEXIM. This fund will support activities within the Guarantees Department.
