The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has reported GHS4.3 billion from the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy).
Nana Poku Afriyie Asante, Head of E-Levy at the GRA, shared these figures on Channel One Newsroom. He explained how the levy has contributed to government revenue since it started.
"The government has mobilised over GHS4 billion. It is actually GHS4.3 billion," Asante stated.
He provided a breakdown of the revenue: GHS645 million in 2022, GHS1.1 billion in 2023, and about GHS2 billion in 2024.
These impressive figures show the E-Levy's significant financial impact. It is a key part of Ghana's tax policy.
The collected funds support government economic initiatives and fiscal needs.
Asante’s announcement comes during discussions on tax reforms and the E-Levy's effects. The levy will end at midnight on April 3, 2025.
This total revenue gives insights into the levy’s effectiveness as Ghana moves to new fiscal measures.
