GIPC CEO outlines plans to map Ghana’s investment opportunities

Mr. Simon Madjie is the CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC). He has announced plans to map investment opportunities in all districts of Ghana. This will help GIPC create a comprehensive database of regional prospects. The goal is to market these opportunities during trade missions.

During a recent visit to Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the Minister of Trade, Mr. Madjie discussed collaboration strategies. They aim to enhance Ghana’s business environment and attract more investments. A press release shared this information with the Ghana News Agency.

Mr. Madjie emphasized the need for collaboration among state agencies. He believes this will streamline investment promotion efforts in Ghana. A unified national strategy is essential for making Ghana a top business destination.

He stated that accurate investment data is crucial for understanding total investments in the country. Mr. Madjie also highlighted opportunities for local and foreign investors under the government’s “24-hour economy” policy. This policy allows seamless integration into the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

He urged Madam Ofosu-Adjare to support GIPC’s initiatives to achieve these goals. In response, she reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with GIPC and other agencies. She plans to engage agency leaders soon to develop an action plan for better coordination.

Madam Ofosu-Adjare announced the launch of the “Feed the Industry” project. This initiative aims to connect commercial contract farmers directly with Ghanaian industries, addressing raw material shortages. She noted that this presents exciting collaboration opportunities between government and private sectors.

She identified priority sectors that are ready for investment and called on GIPC and its partners to focus on these areas. Madam Ofosu-Adjare assured Mr. Madjie of her support in enhancing Ghana’s investment competitiveness.
