GNPC welcomes Edward Abambire Bawa as new CEO, pledging operational excellence

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has appointed Edward Abambire Bawa as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Joseph Dadzie.

With over two decades of experience in energy policy, management, and public service, Bawa is set to lead GNPC through Ghana's energy sector advancements and Africa's energy transition.

Bawa, currently pursuing a PhD in Global Energy Policy, holds a BSc in Chemistry and an MBA in Finance. His past roles include serving as Member of Parliament for Bongo Constituency (2017-2025), contributing to energy legislation, and working as a Communications Consultant for the World Bank's Oil and Gas Capacity Building Project.

GNPC highlighted his expertise in petroleum revenue management, upstream agreements, and energy commercialization, emphasizing his vision for innovation, sustainability, and strategic partnerships.

The Corporation expressed confidence in his leadership and urged stakeholders to support him in steering GNPC to greater success.
