GPL Week 27: Gold Stars go joint-top as Kotoko drop points

The Porcupine Warriors missed a chance to extend their lead. They played an entertaining match at Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Darlvin Yeboah scored for the visitors in the 59th minute. Kotoko pushed hard for an equaliser. They were awarded a controversial penalty late in the game. Albert Amoah converted it in the 80th minute to level the score.

Accra Hearts of Oak faced more troubles this week. They drew 1-1 against Vision FC in match week 27. Hearts now sit fifth on the table with 41 points, six behind Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars.

Kelvin Osei Asibey scored first for Hearts in the 38th minute. However, Meshack Sowah Adjetey equalised just two minutes into the second half. Vision FC had dominated early but made a mistake that led to Hearts' goal.

Hearts are behind Medeama, who have 40 points, while Vision FC is in 14th place with 29 points.

Karela United secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Aduana FC. Adamu Alhassan scored both goals at Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium. This victory marked Karela's seventh win of the season.

Berekum Chelsea won narrowly against Heart of Lions, finishing 1-0. Zackaria Fuseini scored the only goal in the 17th minute at Golden City Park.

Chelsea's win was their ninth this season, placing them tenth on the table. Heart of Lions dropped to eighth position after this loss.

Legon Cities continued their decline toward relegation. They lost 0-2 to FC Samartex 1996 on Sunday. Emmanuel Mamah opened scoring in the 21st minute, followed by Baba Musa Hamadu’s goal in the 58th minute.
