The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) leadership has initiated efforts to enhance tax compliance and expand the tax net to surpass its GH₵220 billion revenue target for 2025.
Acting Commissioner General Anthony Kwasi Sarpong emphasized improving domestic revenue collection to support government expenditure.
During a tour of tax centers and Customs points, he encouraged officials to achieve at least GH₵11 billion and pledged logistical support. At Tema Port, Assistant Commissioner Thereza Potarkey requested better resources to improve efficiency, highlighting infrastructure challenges affecting staff operations.
She stressed that upgrading facilities would enhance both efficiency and client experience. The tour also included discussions with MPS Port Services, where key concerns were raised for government intervention. The initiative aims to strengthen tax administration and maximize revenue collection.
