The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has issued a statement. It refutes media reports about Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd. (SML).
Reports suggested that SML resumed its revenue assurance mandate. This included Ghana’s upstream petroleum and solid minerals sectors.
On May 14, 2025, the GRA emphasized its earlier directive. This directive suspended SML’s operations in those sectors since April 2024.
The clarification responds to recent news articles from various outlets. These include Business and Financial Times and Graphic Online. They claimed SML expanded its oversight under a 2023 contract.
However, the GRA denied any instruction for SML to resume operations. The authority reassured stakeholders and the public of its commitment to protect national revenue. It stressed the importance of integrity and transparency in its work.
