The Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) has responded to concerns raised by Nana Morkeh Kpanyinli IV and residents in Nzema, pledging to meet their expectations and uphold responsible operations.
GNGC clarified that all properly documented landowners have been compensated, though ongoing legal disputes delay additional payments.
The company dismissed claims that gas flaring is harming residents’ health, stating there's no scientific evidence to support such fears and citing compliance with EPA safety standards.
GNGC also addressed issues of employment, with the new CEO, Judith Adjobah Blay, set to unveil a job creation plan in line with the President’s unemployment reduction agenda.
Additionally, the company assured that offshore pipelines do not disrupt fishing activities and promised continuous engagement with affected communities. GNGC emphasized its commitment to transparency, safety, and social responsibility.
