A highlight of the event was the “Wow Moment” segment. This part recognizes students for their engagement and enthusiasm.
One moving story featured a student named Callistus. He received a cash prize when he needed it most. Callistus was struggling to pay his school fees.
“I didn’t know how I would pay my fees,” he said. “I am so grateful to the organizers for changing lives.” His story shows how impactful the High School Next Level Disability Inclusion program is.
Comfort Ocran, Executive Director of the Springboard Road Show Foundation, spoke about its deeper impact. “Every time we visit a school, we see young dreams waiting to be ignited,” she said. “Today, we made a direct impact on a student’s life.”
The Ghana Grows High School Next Level Tour has visited several schools. These include Koforidua School for the Deaf and Kibi School for the Deaf. Other stops were Bechem School for the Deaf and Takoradi Special Vocational School.
The tour also included Twin City Special School and Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind. Additional visits were made to Volta School for the Deaf and Blind, as well as Gbi Special School.
Ghana Grows is an initiative by the Mastercard Foundation. It is led by the Springboard Road Show Foundation with support from Lyme Haus. Key partners include Axis Human Capital, Meraki Arts Africa, Light for the World, and others.
Together, these organizations are creating new opportunities for young people across Ghana.
