Ghana Link assures stakeholders of ICUMS data integrity following temporary system interruption

Ghana Link Network Services Ltd, operator of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS), has reassured stakeholders in the shipping, logistics, and transport sectors that no data was lost during a temporary system interruption on October 23, 2024.

In a statement on February 24, 2025, the company clarified that the downtime was due to a scheduled upgrade aimed at enhancing performance, data security, and storage efficiency, not a system failure or deliberate shutdown.

All documents and historical records from 2020 to 2024 remain securely stored and accessible, despite some users experiencing brief access issues.

The upgrade was executed in strict adherence to Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), reinforcing Ghana Link’s commitment to a secure, efficient, and transparent trade facilitation system.
