The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) has outlined appropriate cement types for construction to ensure structural integrity and safety under the Manufacture of Cement Regulations, 2023 (L.I. 2480).

Cement has been categorized based on grades and applications:

* 32.5R (Portland Limestone & Composite Cement) – General construction,
plastering, and masonry.
* 42.5R – Concrete products like blocks and pavement slabs.
* 42.5N – Ready-mix concrete and high-rise buildings.
* 52.5N – Structural elements in high-rise buildings.
* Masonry Cement (MC 12.5/22.5) – Plastering, block laying, tiling, screeding.

The GSA urges compliance to enhance construction quality and prevent structural failures.
