Ghana government urged to support fire victims through the Contingency Fund  - Ghana Business News

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has urged the government to help fire victims. They want part of the Contingency Fund used for this support.

Mr. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markins, the Minority Leader, made this request. He spoke during a visit to the Adum Blue Light fire disaster site. The Caucus expressed sympathy for the affected traders.

He noted that the destruction was severe and needed urgent assistance. The Contingency Fund is available for such emergencies.

Mr. Afenyo Markins mentioned that although NPP leadership had visited, they felt it important to show support too. The Minority Caucus announced a donation of GH¢200,000 to help rebuild traders' stores.

He assured traders that the Minority would protect their interests. They aim to provide opportunities for rebuilding their businesses independently.

The members were joined by some national executives of the NPP and Ashanti regional officials.
