Businessman Seidu Agongo has called for better collaboration between politicians and business leaders. He believes this partnership is essential for Ghana’s economic development. Without alignment, the country’s progress will remain limited.
In an interview with Metro TV, Mr. Agongo discussed the challenges faced by businesspeople. He emphasized the need for policymakers to consider business perspectives in their decisions. “The only way we can get Ghana to develop is if politicians align with businessmen,” he stated.
He pointed out that many government officials lack practical business experience. This lack of experience can lead to poor decisions affecting millions of people. “Sometimes you have a politician who has never ventured into any business,” he noted.
Mr. Agongo expressed concern about politicians making critical decisions without understanding the entrepreneurial landscape. He highlighted that some ministers come straight from school into important roles, impacting 34 million citizens, including businesspeople.
He also mentioned that Ghana lacks institutional frameworks to correct policy mistakes. This makes it even more important for political leaders to engage with experienced business figures directly.
