The Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, Simone Giger, has made a call for economic diversification. She believes this will help Ghana access the European market more effectively.
Madam Giger described Ghana and Switzerland as natural allies. She encouraged Ghanaian producers to add value to their products for global markets.
“I would love to buy clothes, crafts, or chocolate made in Ghana,” she said on the Citi Breakfast Show on June 5, 2025.
Regarding environmental issues, Madam Giger promised Switzerland's continued support for renewable energy. She noted that renewable energy can improve electricity access across the country.
She highlighted past support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. This support has helped supply solar-powered electricity to rural areas.

Madam Giger expressed hope that Ghana will receive praise for its climate initiatives with the EPA.
