Gov't targets $10 billion in non-traditional export revenue by 2030

Ghana aims to boost its Non-Traditional Exports significantly. The new strategy targets $5 billion in earnings within two years. It also aims for $10 billion by 2030.

This goal was announced at a meeting at Jubilee House. President John Dramani Mahama met with key stakeholders. These included the Ministry of Trade, GEPA, and FAGE.

Davis Narh Korbou, president of FAGE, stressed the need for government support. He said expanding agricultural production is crucial for economic growth. Strengthening export capacity is also essential to meet these goals.

“These are bold targets,” Mr. Korbou stated. “With full government backing, they are achievable.”

President Mahama responded by reaffirming his commitment to support exports. He promised to create a favorable macroeconomic environment for growth. He announced that the Accelerated Export Advisory Committee will soon meet. This committee includes representatives from FAGE and will address export sector challenges.
