The Ghana Hoteliers Association is calling for the consolidation of multiple taxes, including VAT, the National Health Insurance Levy, and the GETFund levy, into a single tax for the hospitality industry.

The Association argues that the current tax structure, along with inflation, currency volatility, and high utility tariffs, is burdening hotel businesses.

Ahead of the 2025 budget presentation, industry leaders urge the government to address these challenges to support business growth.

Speaking to Citi Business News, Association President Dr. Edward Ackah-Nyamike emphasized the need for tax reductions and economic measures that would ease business pressures.

He reiterated that consolidating taxes would provide much-needed relief for the industry and improve its sustainability.
