Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has pledged to introduce a 24-hour passport service to enhance efficiency and reduce processing delays. Speaking on TV3 on February 8, he described the current waiting periods as unacceptable and committed to urgent reforms.
Ablakwa, also the MP for North Tongu, emphasized leveraging technology, expanding processing centers, and streamlining administrative processes to modernize passport issuance. He also hinted at decentralizing services for nationwide accessibility.
Calling for collaboration between government agencies, the private sector, and the public, he assured Ghanaians of a more transparent and citizen-friendly system. His ministry, he vowed, will prioritize efficiency to make passport acquisition seamless and meet international standards.
