President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed profound sympathy to the traders affected by the catastrophic fire at Accra’s Kantamanto market. The blaze, which occurred on January 2, 2025, devastated over 100 shops, leaving traders in despair as they combed through the ruins for any salvageable items.
Known for its bustling activity and variety of goods, the market’s destruction has deeply impacted many who invested their life savings into their businesses.
During his final State of the Nation Address on January 3, 2025, the President extended heartfelt condolences to the victims, expressing sorrow over the tragedy.
“My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected, and I offer my deepest sympathies to the hardworking traders who have lost their goods and investments,” he stated.
