The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Asiama, confirmed that he is now operating from the new headquarters.
Speaking before Parliament on March 5, he explained that his predecessor moved into the facility when it was 98% complete, and upon taking office, he had no choice but to continue using it while final works were being completed.
Dr. Asiama’s comments come amid public debate over the project's cost and necessity. He defended the expenditure, stating that the cost was carefully assessed to ensure value for money and to meet international construction standards.
Despite ongoing finishing processes, the new headquarters is fully functional and serves as the central bank’s base.
