The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has initiated its fourth review mission in Ghana as part of the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) program for 2023–2026.
The review, which runs from April 2 to April 15, will assess the country’s economic performance and progress in implementing structural reforms.
Initial discussions took place at the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Ghana, focusing on Ghana's fiscal performance for 2024.
The IMF team will meet with senior officials and stakeholders to review key economic indicators, including inflation control and monetary policy.
The outcome of this review will determine whether Ghana qualifies for the next tranche of IMF support, which is critical for maintaining macroeconomic stability.
Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson expressed optimism about stabilizing the economy by May 2025 .
