Importers & Exporters Association 'confident in the competence and zeal' of Minister for Finance Ato Forson

The Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana (IEAG) has expressed confidence in the leadership of newly appointed Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry Minister Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare.

In a statement on January 28, 2025, the IEAG commended Dr. Forson’s expertise in fiscal policy and economic management and Hon. Ofosu-Adjare’s dedication to empowering businesses, particularly women-led enterprises. The association pledged its support for their efforts to enhance Ghana's trade and maritime sectors.

The IEAG also called for prioritizing key challenges, including high tariffs, bureaucratic delays, and infrastructure deficits, while lauding Hon. Ofosu-Adjare’s initiatives to promote gender equality and mentor young women entrepreneurs.

They anticipate a productive partnership to improve Ghana's trade landscape and contribute to the country's economic growth.
