A technology expert, Evans Agyenim Boateng, has pointed out that the failure of cashew processors in Ghana to leverage marketing tools such as packaging, branding, and advertising has contributed to the low local consumption of cashew products.
Despite increasing production, Ghana processes less than 10% of the cashews it produces, relying heavily on exports of raw cashew nuts (RCNs).
Agyenim Boateng emphasized that many local processors lack the marketing skills to differentiate their products, which prevents them from tapping into the growing global demand.
He urged processors to collaborate with marketing experts to improve product branding and raise local consumption, warning that poor marketing strategies could lead to long-term losses.
