Israel is seeking to strengthen its agricultural partnership with Ghana by introducing advanced farming technologies to boost productivity and exports.
Israeli Ambassador Roey Gilad highlighted precision agriculture, including drip irrigation, greenhouse farming, and improved fertilizers, as key solutions to Ghana’s farming challenges.
Speaking at a forum organized with VEPEAG, he emphasized Israel’s commitment to supporting Ghana through Mashav, its international development agency. The initiative aims to enhance Ghana’s vegetable industry by increasing yields, reducing post-harvest losses, and improving compliance with stringent EU export regulations.
The collaboration’s success depends on strong cooperation between the Ghanaian government, agricultural stakeholders, and Israel’s trade agencies. Ambassador Gilad expressed optimism about finalizing a 2025 work plan with Ghana’s Ministry of Agriculture to deepen this partnership.
