Joana Gyan Invests $5 Million in Farming Initiative to Create Jobs

Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, MP for Amenfi Central, has launched a farming initiative. This project aims to create jobs and empower women in her constituency. It involves an investment of nearly $5 million to support vegetable farming.

The MP's office has secured over 120 acres of land. They have also obtained equipment for irrigation. This shows her commitment to making a significant impact.

Hon. Gyan plans to reach 10 communities in the area. The initiative will provide opportunities for women to engage in vegetable farming and improve their livelihoods.

This effort is a collaboration between several organizations. These include the Joana Gyan Foundation, Peanut Farmers Association, and Jel Farms GH Limited. Together, they will offer training sessions on growing vegetables like garden eggs, okro, pepper, and peanuts.

Amenfi Central is one of the poorest constituencies in the Western Region. Hon. Gyan's initiative aims to reduce social issues like robbery and drug addiction. It also seeks to address teenage pregnancy prevalent in the area.
