Outgoing SIGA Director-General John Boadu has urged President-elect John Mahama to appoint a highly competent leader to head the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA).
He emphasized SIGA's pivotal role in overseeing 175 public sector entities with an asset base of GH₵400 billion, advocating for a results-oriented appointment to maximize efficiency and enhance state resource management.
Speaking after the launch of SIGA’s new digital platform, the SIGA Entity Portal, Boadu underlined the importance of selecting a leader who understands SIGA’s mandate and can address challenges, such as asset preservation—highlighting that only two entities maintained their assets in 2016/2017.
The SIGA Entity Portal aims to boost transparency and accountability by providing digital access to reports and financial data from key public sector entities, fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors.
