Energy Minister John Jinapor has disclosed that the West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo) has cut gas supply to Ghana to 60 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) due to an outstanding $20 million debt.
Despite this, he assured Ghanaians that there will be no load shedding, dismissing calls for a load management timetable.
Jinapor acknowledged Ghana's weak transmission grid, stating that it requires urgent strengthening, particularly around Kumasi, to prevent frequent outages.
He emphasized the government's commitment to resolving these issues and urged the public for patience. The minister reaffirmed the administration’s focus on enhancing the country’s power infrastructure to ensure a more stable energy supply.
