The launch of Johnnie Walker Blonde set a new standard for whisky events.

This vibe was felt throughout the night.

Yaa Amoah-Owusu, Marketing Manager at Guinness Ghana, explained that Blonde isn’t just another bottle. “Johnnie Walker Blonde is not a replacement. It’s an addition and an invitation to more people to join the whisky conversation.”

Michael Acheampong, Innovations Marketing Manager, shared its qualities: “It’s smooth, sweet, and easy on the palate. It opens whisky to new drinkers while keeping the Johnnie Walker character.”

Before the launch night, select distributors tasted it first. On May 13th, they attended a special trade event led by Caesar Mafando. He described Johnnie Walker Blonde as perfect for those wanting a lighter whisky. Whether neat or mixed with citrus, it offers a refreshing experience.

The event also celebrated Ghanaian creativity. Afrobeats star Olive the Boy energized the crowd with music. DJ Lord OTB then took over and turned it into a party atmosphere. A fashion runway showcased bold styles that matched the new drink.

This launch is part of Guinness Ghana’s plan to evolve with the times. They aim to make whisky fun and welcoming for everyone—especially younger drinkers. By collaborating with local creatives and highlighting Ghanaian culture, they show that great whisky can be bold and proudly African.

When it was time to toast, Felicite Nson, Managing Director of Guinness Ghana, led with enthusiasm: “Here’s to greatness! Here’s to smoothness! And here’s to progress! With Johnnie Walker Blonde, we walk boldly into a new era in Ghana.”

Johnnie Walker Blonde is now available in 750ml bottles in Ghana. It’s designed for mixing or sipping while sparking conversation.
