Julius Debrah: Most SMEs fail because they lack appropriate guidance

Chief of Staff Julius Debrah emphasized the importance of guidance for SMEs in Ghana. He spoke about the challenges these businesses face. Many struggle or fail due to a lack of support and knowledge.

In an interview with Citi News on April 15, Mr. Debrah discussed the upcoming Kwahu Business Forum 2025. This event is scheduled for Saturday, April 19. He mentioned that financial institutions like the African Development Bank will participate.

Mr. Debrah pointed out that people often think banks only provide loans. However, many banks also offer advisory services. These services are crucial for entrepreneurs starting their ventures.

He highlighted that proper guidance helps with essential steps, like feasibility studies. Without this support, many SMEs are unprepared for long-term success. "Most SMEs start and fail because they lack guidance," he said.

Mr. Debrah expressed confidence in the forum's positive impact on entrepreneurs. He believes participating institutions will educate and support them effectively. "They will discuss how they can help the business community," he noted.

He encouraged entrepreneurs to engage fully at the forum. They should listen to advice and align their goals with available resources.
