KIC collaborates with Premier Poultry to promote youth entrepreneurship

Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) is driving agricultural impact by partnering with Kumasi-based Premier Poultry Limited to empower young entrepreneurs and support smallholder farmers.

The collaboration focuses on brooding day-old chicks for six weeks before selling them to local farmers, providing essential training in poultry management and ensuring access to high-quality birds for rearing. This initiative fosters job creation, enhances food security, and boosts local economies by increasing incomes and improving household nutrition.

KIC’s Executive Director, Benjamin Gyan-Kesse, stressed that this strategic partnership aligns with KIC’s mission to transform agribusiness through capacity-building.

It also forms part of the broader Initiative for Youth in Agricultural Transformation (IYAT) with the Mastercard Foundation, aimed at promoting sustainable employment and dignified livelihoods for young people in agriculture.
