Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah criticized the Kejetia Market project, constructed under John Mahama’s administration, as poorly planned and contributing to congestion in Kumasi due to inadequate parking.
Speaking in an interview with Serwaa Amihere on GHOne TV, he contrasted it with the ongoing Central Market Phase Two project, which he claims has been redesigned to avoid similar issues.
Osei Mensah also dismissed the NDC's claims of initiating major market and health projects in the region. He stated that the NPP has completed inherited projects like the Sewua Regional Hospital and the Afari Military Hospital while challenging the NDC to name a single completed hospital they initiated.
The Minister expressed confidence in the NPP achieving 85% of the region’s votes, citing infrastructural improvements like the Asafo and Suame Interchanges.
