Business mogul Osei Kwame Despite has refuted claims of acquiring prime properties sold by the State Insurance Company (SIC) under controversial circumstances.
The denial comes as SIC faces turmoil, with its management and board defying a court injunction to hold their 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Key appointments and alleged irregular asset sales, including properties in Kumasi, Accra, and London, have drawn scrutiny.
Despite's son, Kennedy Asante Osei, clarified that their family avoids state property acquisitions, labeling the allegations as false.
Meanwhile, dissenting shareholders, including Daniel Ofori, contest board decisions and appointments, citing regulatory non-compliance.
Allegations of unmerited promotions and asset disposals have sparked calls for judicial intervention to annul recent resolutions.
