Hon. Dr. Pelpuo emphasized the Ministry's careful selection of inspectors. They were chosen for their technical skills, integrity, and commitment to the law.
“These inspectors have full state authority,” he stated. “They can enter any workplace, shut down dangerous operations, and hold employers accountable.”
He issued a strong warning to employers: “Compliance is non-negotiable. Inspectors will find you. Our laws will hold you accountable. Our commitment to worker safety is unwavering.”
The Minister also mentioned the government's focus on vulnerable groups. Special attention will protect women from discrimination and young workers from hazardous jobs.
Additionally, there will be inclusive policies for persons with disabilities. The government aims to extend formal protections to informal sector workers.
Dr. Pelpuo assured that the Ministry would invest in inspector development. They will receive modern tools, legal support, and public awareness campaigns.
The inauguration of this task force shows the government's renewed commitment. It aims to enforce workplace standards and safeguard all Ghanaian workers' rights and wellbeing.
