MTN Ghana honored 60 Mobile Money (MoMo) agents and 30 merchants from the Western, Western North, and Central regions during an awards ceremony marking the 15th anniversary of its Mobile Money service.
The event celebrated the transformative role of MoMo in advancing financial inclusion and fostering a cashless society in Ghana.
David Woasey, Area Sales Manager for South-West, praised the resilience and dedication of agents and merchants who expanded the service, while Prince Owusu-Nyarko, Regional Senior Manager, highlighted MoMo’s 15-year journey, including job creation and empowering businesses.
MTN acknowledged key stakeholders, including the Bank of Ghana, fintech partners, and customers.
The event also showcased new initiatives like the MyMomo app and XtraCash, reinforcing MTN’s commitment to innovation.
Agents were urged to embrace future fintech opportunities, with MTN pledging to drive credit, digital payments, and insurance solutions, ensuring inclusivity in Ghana’s digital transformation.
