MTN concludes the sale of its Guinea operations to the State of Guinea

MTN Group Limited has finalized the sale of its Guinea operations ("MTN Guinea-Conakry") to the State of Guinea, effective December 30, 2024. The move aligns with MTN's Ambition 2025 strategy, which focuses on portfolio optimization and simplification.

MTN Group President and CEO, Ralph Mupita, expressed gratitude to staff, customers, regulators, and stakeholders in Guinea for their support during MTN's presence in the country.

He emphasized that the transition to local ownership marks a new chapter for MTN Guinea-Conakry and reflects MTN's strategy to streamline its portfolio and concentrate resources in markets where it can drive long-term growth and deliver sustainable returns.
