Mahama appoints Apau Wiredu Lateef as Deputy CEO of Ghana Free Zones Authority

President John Mahama has appointed Apau Wiredu Lateef as the Deputy CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) to strengthen industrialization, job creation, and economic growth. GFZA, established under the Free Zone Act, 1995 (Act 504), regulates free zones to boost trade and investment.

Mr. Apau Wiredu, a seasoned Economic Policy Analyst, holds degrees from UPSA and the University of Ghana, alongside a fellowship in Natural Resource Management from Denmark. He played a key role in the 2024 NDC Presidential Campaign and has experience in agribusiness, export, and mining.

His appointment is expected to enhance foreign investment, export expansion, and job creation, reinforcing Ghana’s position as a competitive trade hub.
