Mahama appoints Edward Bawa as Acting CEO of GNPC

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Edward Bawa as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).

Effective January 17, 2025, the appointment aligns with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 10(2) of the GNPC Act, 1983 (P.N.D.C.L.64).

It is subject to advice from the Energy Minister, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

The President commended the former MP for Bongo in a letter signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, expressing confidence in Bawa's leadership to steer GNPC effectively.
