Former Finance Minister Seth Terkper has emphasized that the Mahama-led administration will focus on infrastructure development to create jobs, especially for the youth, to combat unemployment.
He argued that strategic investments in projects like Terminal 3 and the E-Block schools have proven to generate significant employment, with the potential for more job creation through continued infrastructure development.
Terkper disagreed with claims that the economy has recovered, pointing out issues like unpaid contractors and high inflation. He advocated for reengineering the economy and implementing a sector-by-sector 24-hour economic policy to address inefficiencies.
Despite some positive signs, Terkper warned that vulnerabilities in agriculture and the export-import sectors could worsen in the first quarter of the following year.
