Ayimbire Mary-Immaculate Winemaliya, CEO of Maliya Farms, started guinea fowl farming with GH₵600 after completing SHS to avoid urban job-seeking.
Within five months, she earned GH₵10,000, reinvested it, and built a thriving business. Inspired by her success, four friends joined her venture.
Winemaliya self-taught farming techniques through YouTube and credited her mentor, Issaka Mohammed, for guidance.
Despite gender bias in agriculture, she persisted and now mentors aspiring farmers, encouraging youth and women to explore agriculture for financial independence.
Her story highlights the potential of resilience and self-learning in transforming agriculture into a sustainable livelihood, particularly for women in Ghana's Upper East Region.
