Inflation dropped to 0.2 percent from February to March 2025. This is a significant decrease from the previous month's rate of 1.3 percent.
Food inflation was a major contributor to price increases. In March 2025, it reached 26.5 percent, down from 28.1 percent in February.
Non-food inflation slightly increased to 18.8 percent, up from 18.7 percent in February.
The inflation rate varied across the country’s regions. The Upper West Region had the highest rate at 36.2 percent, while Volta Region had the lowest at 18.9 percent.
Inflation for locally produced items was higher than for imported goods. In March 2025, local goods had an inflation rate of 25.1 percent, compared to 18.5 percent for imports.
This trend indicates that domestic factors impacted inflation more than external pressures like exchange rates and global supply chains.
For specific categories, Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages recorded an inflation rate of 26.5 percent. Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels had an inflation rate of 25.1 percent.
