McDan Aviation has refuted claims of owing the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) $3 million for the use of Terminal 1 at Kotoka International Airport.
Responding to the terminal’s recent shutdown, CEO Kwaku Ampronfi stated that the debt figure was inaccurate, highlighting recent payments and plans to settle further obligations by January 2025.
The company, which operates private jet services, called the closure “regrettable” and emphasized ongoing discussions to resolve the matter.
McDan Aviation also clarified that a separate land dispute involving third-party litigation has delayed payments unrelated to Terminal 1 operations.
Allocated for Fixed Base Operator (FBO) services since 2021, Terminal 1's use by McDan Aviation has faced similar challenges in the past.
The company remains committed to resolving the issue through dialogue.
