The Amansie South District Assembly has inaugurated an oil palm extraction factory in Mem, the first of its kind in the district. This facility aims to boost palm oil production, the main livelihood for locals, and create jobs, particularly for women.
District Chief Executive Clement Opoku Gyamfi highlighted the facility's transformative potential for the local palm oil sector. He thanked Nana Opiah Mensah for donating the land and praised the Rural Enterprises Agency (REA) for supplying the necessary machinery.
The project was funded through stool land revenue. Equipped with modern facilities, the factory will produce high-quality palm oil and related products for local and international markets.
The inauguration marks a significant step toward economic growth and empowerment for women in the district.
