Mobile money transactions in Ghana increase to GH¢365b in April 2025

Ghana's mobile money transactions reached GH¢365 billion in April 2025.

This is an 80 percent increase from GH¢203 billion last year.

The data comes from the Bank of Ghana's report for May 2025.

Transaction volumes also rose to 778 million in April 2025.

This is up from 630 million in April 2024.

Registered mobile money accounts increased to 75.2 million.

Active users now total 24.2 million, according to the report.

The number of registered agents grew to 911,000 nationwide.

There are currently 414,000 active agents.

Interoperable transactions between platforms and banks reached GH¢4 billion.

This shows a growing integration of the financial system.
